PLANNING / MATERIALS

Know what to make. Know what to buy.

Turn a demand change into component requirements, a shortage review, and a controlled purchase or production decision. Keep the reason for each action attached to the record.

THE MATERIALS LOOP / 02

From finished-goods demand to a feasible next action.

Materials planning needs an auditable connection between the demand signal, the bill of materials, supply already committed, and the action a buyer or planner approves.

01

Set the demand

Start with forecast, confirmed orders, and the production horizon. Keep the version and owner visible.

02

Resolve the BOM

Map finished goods to components, quantities, revisions, and approved substitutes for the manufacturing scope.

03

Calculate the gap

Compare gross requirements with on-hand stock, reservations, open purchases, work in progress, and expected receipts.

04

Apply real constraints

Review supplier lead times, minimums, pack multiples, and production capacity before proposing a date or quantity.

05

Approve and follow through

Route the exception to its owner, approve the purchase or work order, and track the result in the operating system.

REAL PRODUCT CONTEXT / 03

A planning workspace built around the SKU and warehouse.

The SOBERAN demand planning workspace brings sales history, consumption, pending purchases, transfers, and recommended actions into the planner’s view. Manufacturing material rules and integrations are configured to each implementation.

Bring your own BOM to the evaluation.

We will review your product structure, planning horizon, suppliers, constraints, ERP ownership, and approval policy. That is the right way to confirm the materials workflow for your operation.

FAQ / 05

Materials planning questions

What is the difference between demand planning and materials planning?

Demand planning estimates the finished-goods need. Materials planning translates that need into component quantities and dates using the bill of materials, stock, open supply, and constraints.

Does SOBERAN need to replace our ERP?

No. A scoped workflow can use ERP data and return approved actions to the system of record. The objects, permissions, and writeback method are confirmed during implementation.

Can we evaluate a multilevel BOM?

Yes. Bring a representative product structure, including revisions and substitutions, so the team can validate the exact explosion and approval path required for your manufacturing flow.

NEXT / 06

See the material decision with your own constraints.

Bring one product, its BOM, a current shortage, and the ERP you use. We will map the decision from demand to approved action.
