Inventory diagnostic

Inventory health diagnostic

Turn a SKU-level CSV into an initial inventory risk map directly in your browser.

The diagnostic classifies portfolio value and demand variability, estimates stockout and excess exposure, and surfaces the SKUs that deserve review first. Your file stays in your browser and is not sent to Soberan.

01 · Input data

Analyze an ERP export

Use the template with six months of demand. Everything runs locally: the file never leaves your browser.

ABC / XYZ

Upload the template or try the sample to generate the priority map.

01

Methods used

ABC uses annualized consumption value. XYZ uses demand coefficient of variation. Risk compares inventory position with reorder point; excess compares it with a configurable target level.

Thresholds are transparent screening heuristics, not a production replenishment policy. Validate units, calendars, seasonality, promotions, lead-time variability, and service targets before taking action.

02

Use it when

  • Preparing an initial inventory review from ERP exports
  • Finding high-value SKUs with stockout or excess exposure
  • Prioritizing the categories that need deeper demand and replenishment analysis

03

How to interpret the result

  • AX and AY items usually deserve tighter planning attention than low-value CZ items.
  • Risk units estimate the gap to the entered reorder policy; they are not an order quantity.
  • Excess value is a screening estimate based on the selected target-coverage window.

Frequently asked questions

Does Soberan upload or store my CSV?

No. The diagnostic parses and analyzes the file in your browser. It does not send the file contents to Soberan.

What does ABC/XYZ mean?

ABC groups SKUs by annualized consumption value; XYZ groups them by relative demand variability. Together they help prioritize different planning policies.

Can I use the results to create purchase orders?

Treat them as an initial review. Production orders should also account for open supply, pack sizes, minimum quantities, calendars, supplier reliability, service policy, and approvals.
